Whilst each plane has "four times the thermal conductivity of copper", the entire structure is merely "equivalent to aluminium"?

What's all these references to "evaporative cooling"?

They have all kinds of info. Check this out: http://www.ms.ornl.gov/researchgroup...lectronics.pdf

Here is the main webpage: http://www.ms.ornl.gov/researchgroup...foam/foams.htm

Dosn't seem like they have made to much progress since 1997 though as the thermal conductivity seems to be less than aluminum. Not sure why that first link claims way better than copper...

I think it is saying that "planes" (I read as "bits") of it are better, but overall the interfaces between the "planes" (bits) are worse, and hence overall as good as aluminium.
Which ain't good enough.
