Heatsink/ Heat Pipe / ThermoSiphon Cooling The cat will only make the mistake of putting its paw by your HSF once. :) Also the place to discuss the new high end heat pipe goodness.

Default Increasing Fan Speed

I recently bought an AMD Duron 800 with a MSI K7T Pro 2-A, and a coolermaster fan which is apparently rated to cool a Athlon 1200.

What i am hoping somone can tell me is if the following is normal
The fan runs at about 4700rpm all the time
and the processor still sits at around 100-108F.

Is there anyway i can speed up the fan to make the processor run cooler or is that the best i can do

assuming you have enough airflow through the case, all you can do is get a better HSF.

the FOP-32 would be fine for the 800.
pretty cheap too.

No problem with airflow becaus ei usually keep the sides off(i know i shouldnt) and there is about 1 - 2 cm gap on both sides of the case so the airflow shouldnt be a problem.
