Default A "Boli Tube"

Thought I’ll share my results on airflow.

NB: this is purely science by experimentation and I can’t say – this got me a 0.56*C decrease in temperature

After playing around with tubes and tunnels to bring the cold air in from the outside of my case to the inside I have come to the conclusion that a “Boli tube” (i.e. it isn’t all there ;P) is a better way of directing airflow than I first realised.

A few pics:

All I can say is it ACTUALLY works and is a lot easier to work around than those fully encased cardboard/flexible plastic ducting I was woking on before.

At first it was just a "go between" while I was mesauring up the side parts but there seems to be no difference betwene it if I included side panneling at all. and the process works all the better if a fan runs at the front and "throws" the air up the tube.

Flame away, but I just thought it was a stroke of accidental genius if I have ever seen it.

very nice implementation, i truly like it. why stop now? cut out some flat pieces of sheetmetal for the sides.

Point was - I found out that is didn't really NEED the side pieces -they only make the case harder to work on and then you have the problem of joining pieces.

And you don't know the work it took for me to cut that peice out of 2mm steel with a file, a pair of pliers and some snips. call it laziness call it "back to basics" but it still works as well as an enclosed tube that I have been experimenting with.

EDIT: Darn - just realised it is in thw wrong section.
