Default Am I reading your post right?

Quote:
6. 55' tygon 1/2 id 1/8 wall tubing - 10' @ $13ea
I take it to mean you are selling the Tygon in 10' uncut lengths for $13 / length? (or is it the lot?) If so, I am interested in one length. If not, Please clarify...

PM me so we can work out details on payment, addresses and all that happy stuff

BTW, I'm not particularly interested in it (already have a rad) but on item 7 if that's an automotive heater core, it might help you sell it if you put what the FedCo number is. (or was before the core was modded...)

Thanks,

Gooserider

If you don't normally do so, check your PM's

I sent you a PM yesterday, I'm interested in one of the lengths of Tygon hose.

Gooserider.

If you're able to ship to Canada & accept MO, I'd be interested in some of that Tygon.

Hey MIKE!

Are you reading your mail???

I've sent you a PM, and posted earlier in this forum that I want to do a deal with you for some of the Tygon.

Granted it's not big bucks, but I would like to know if you're interested. If not, let me know and I can go elsewhere...

Given your apparent lack of response, I find the previous thread to this one somewhat ironic...

OK, I'm sorry if I came across grumpy, but I had sent a couple of messages and wasn't getting a response from you. Then I saw a message from you to someone else, but seeming to ignore my messages which got me annoyed.

I want a 10' length of the Tygon tube.
I don't care that much for PayPal, but I can use it if I have to. I prefer to snail a payment to you direct if that is possible. Please PM me with your snail address so that I can send you a payment. I will also be sending you this info in a PM with my mailing address info.

Tygon still available?

I sent you a PM, but I'll also post here and send a message to Heatware (sorry if that is too many messages, but I'm trying to get the system finished next week)...

I'm interested in the Tygon tubing. Send me a PM whether or not you still have some available. I can paypal the funds immediately.

Thanks

warning (Edited)

Be careful of the Tygon tubing from this guy. I ordered 10' of it, but he didn't send Tygon tubing. What I received was a dingy yellow colored tubing that smelled like cigarette smoke and was NOT branded by Tygon (I called them and they said all Tygon tubing will have the brand name, the formula type e.g. R-3603, and the registered trademark). This is some other tubing, and is dirty and smelly at that.

Edit: He claims it is C-210-a from Tygon. This formulation is actually Tygothane from the same company that makes Tygon (like a Chevette vs. a Corvette). Tygon R-3603 is what everyone in watercooling uses if they get Tygon; it is clear and holds up well. Tygothane is Polyurethane, is yellowish in color, not as flexible (shore-A rating of 82 vs. 55 for Tygon, and 1.75" bend rad vs. 1.5"), and absorbs a LOT more water (1.24% over 24 hrs at 23 deg C vs. 0.24%).

I should have been more explicit before I bought this, especially considering he is selling it for half what stores sell it for... but he should have been more specific about what he was selling. I'm not happy.

tygon c-210-a formula, yellow tint is normal, sorry about the cig smell.

I'm not happy either...

I recieved the peice of tubing that I had ordered today, and, like Unapimp, I am also unhappy.

The tubing was as Unapimp described, yellowish (not a big deal) and smelling of ciggarette smoke. It also had some kind of dirty residue on it, but that may have been manufacturing preservative coating. It was appropriately packaged.

However, the tubing was not branded or marked, and was quite stiff.

I am not happy with this tubing, and consider Mike's advertising to be somewhat less than honest. However I am also somewhat at fault in that I failed to ask what formulation Tygon he was selling.

Mike - I would like to arrange to return the tubing and get a refund of my $13.00, as I would NOT have purchased this tubing if I had known what formulation it was. In the interest of giving you a reasonable chance to respond either here or via PM, I will wait until this Friday, 9/12/03, before leaving negative heat or taking any other action. I am also sending you a copy of this message via PM. (If you respond via PM, I will let folks on this thread know, w/ summary of events)

Just FYI...
It is worth noting that my MSC big book listing of propeties for TYGON formulations didn't include C210-A, although they do carry Tygothane tubing. It appears they don't consider Tygothane to be 'real' Tygon.

Entering a search on McMasters for 'Tygon' gets a totally different set of pages from the results of a search for 'Tygothane' - in other words, searching for Tygon won't give you a listing for C210-A tubing, (But WILL find several other Tygon formulations) and searching for Tygothane won't give you R3603 tubing, or any other Tygon formulations. This implies that McMasters doesn't think of C210-A as 'real' Tygon either.

Code:
Per McMasters; Tygothane C210-A vs. Tygon R3603
ID OD Wall Bend rad PSI@73*F P/N $/ft
1/2" 3/4" 1/8" 1 3/4" 46 5549K39 2.31
1/2" 3/4" 1/8" 1 1/2" 25 5554K19 3.42
Also per McMasters:
Tygon Formulation: C- 210-A
Temp. Range: - 100° to +175° F
Color: Clear
Durometer, Shore A: 82
Tensile Strength: 6050 psi
Elongation: 500%
Sterilization: Not rated
Materials Meet: FDA (food and beverage)
Fittings: Barbed (see pgs. 111-118)

Tygon Formulation: R-3603
Temperature Range: -58° to +165° F
Color: Clear
Durometer, Shore A: 55
Tensile Strength: 1650 psi
Elongation: 450%
Sterilization: Steam (auto-clave) and gas
Materials Meet: FDA (food and beverage)

I have not yet heard from Michael as of 23:50ESDT on Sunday 9/14.

It appears that Michael has not been on the board since 9/5 when he posted the message complaining about Unapimp having left him negative heat w/o giving him a chance to refund his money. (At least that is the last post that shows in a message search, and he hasn't read the PM that I sent him.) Perhaps a moderator could tell us if he has logged in since then?

I just found his e-mail address via Heat, and am sending him a direct e-mail. Perhaps I'm an overly nice guy, but I haven't left negative heat on him yet, as I want to ensure that he has a chance to respond and settle this issue w/out damaging his rep excessively.

However, I am rapidly loosing patience with him. I would also suggest that his lack of communication and arguably deceptive advertising might be worth considering when evaluating the conflicting claims in the LiquidRulez thread elsewhere on this forum.

(I will say that I had nothing but positive communication with LR outside this forum, and I was somewhat hesitant about dealing with MM because of that thread. However I decided that the amount of money involved wasn't that great, so I took the chance....)

Yes, but would it have gotten me a more useful one? As of about 10 minutes ago, the only e-mail I had gotten from Mike was the automatic 'return reciept' telling me that the message was read:
Quote:
This is a receipt for the mail you sent to <removed by GR> at 9/14/2003 10:19 PM This receipt verifies that the message has been displayed on the recipient's computer at 9/15/2003 12:29 AM
Perhaps I wasn't explicit enough in my earlier message, when I said:
Quote:
Mike - I would like to arrange to return the tubing and get a refund of my $13.00, as I would NOT have purchased this tubing if I had known what formulation it was.
I don't know how I could have been more clear. However until I have an agreement that you will refund my money, I'm not going to return the tubing - right now I'm out money, but at least have some not very useable tubing. If I send it back without an agreement on the amount to be refunded I'm possibly out the money plus the additional shipping, and won't have the tubing either....

Is it necessary to leave you negative heat in order to make you do meaningful communication?

Gooserider

(A copy of this message will be sent to Michael via E-mail as well...)

A less than glowing endorsement. Combine this with the shitstorm associated with LiquidRulez and maybe MichaelMuck doesn't need to be trading on this forum.

If you aren't going to check threads and deal with customer relations issues then don't sell anything here. If you can't conduct satisfactory trades then don't trade at all. You should refund these people their money; R1000 or R3603 are the Tygons that people know and love. You are obviously pulling a bait and switch on them. I would have left you a negative evaluation too.

lets see, the box was sealed and said norton tygon tubing on it. the the dim are 1/2 id with 1/8. Did I misquote something here. I am sorry about the cig smell as I left it on kitchen table for 3 days. As I use this in my own rig and like that its veryyyyy hard to kink and that I was selling it at .80 per ft ($5 was for fedex grd shipping) I was giving people a good deal and I said later I would give refunds to whoever wasnt happy. As I have sold many high price items with no probs ($3800 truck too) its funny I getting so much flake on 2 $7 dollar items

A message (from <msirott@comcast.net> ) was received at 15 Sep 2003 6:32:04 +0000. The following addresses had delivery problems: atorrey@cybercom.net Persistent Transient Failure: Delivery time expired Delivery last attempted at 15 Sep 2003 6:32:04 +0000
That is unusual, my ISP has been very reliable in the past, and I check my mail almost daily.

I did NOT recieve the message that Mike says he sent, however the error message that he quotes is consistent with it not making it to me.

The content of the message saying to return the tubing is what I had been looking for, and the response time he quotes is reasonable so I will drop my beef in that regard (though I'm mildly surprised that Mike wasn't checking here more often, I agree that direct e-mail was a better way of communicating.)

It is to late tonight to make it to the PO or UPS, but I will attempt to get the package out to return it tomorrow afternoon.

Assuming the refund gets here in a reasonable time after that, I will be as happy as one can be under the circumstances.

Package went out this afternoon.

I reused the packaging that Mike sent the tubing to me in,

Postage (Including signature record) was $7.00 and change, almost seems silly in order to get $13.00 back, but...
