1600+ AGOIA or 1900+ AGOGA or TBred?
Hello all,
I was just making up my Christmas wish list (yes, I'm a really bad procrastinator...) and I noticed that newegg.com has 1600+ AGOIAs for $55 and free shipping. That caught my eye, but does anyone think I might be better off with a 1900+ AGOGA for $89+FS or a 1700+ Retail TBred for $65+FS? Note: this new processor will just be a toy; I'm not out to buy a 1600+ and OC it to 1900MHz b/c I need that much speed--this chip will be replacing my *disposable* Duron 750 in the test box. Said box *should* end up with a direct-die watercooling system in the very near future, so I'm not horribly worried about the recent issues with TBred cooling. Oh, and the board is a Vmodded KR7A-133. Any thoughts? |

TbredA 1800+. They clock better than the 1700s for just a couple bux more. With the similarity in price to the 1600+, why wouldn't you?
And who wants a 1900+ AGOGA anymore, anyway? Go for the better, cheaper, chip. Plus, it is factory unlocked for your OCing pleasure.

Tbred 'A'? What is the difference between that and any other TBred? The model number newegg carries for that is AXDA1800DLT3C (OEM), $69+FS.
Are you sure they're all unlocked? (I was just starting to get good with the window repair kit... ) |

TBredA are the first revision TBreds. TBredB are the second, starting with the 2400+. TBredA is the equivalent of the 2200+s with better steppings.
On some boards you still need to join the last L3 bridge, but all the L1 bridges are joined from the factory.

A's were the first, 'poor' overclocking t~breds made, I would'nt bet on it being able to do 2gig if I were you anymore than an XP, my pally 1800+ AGOIA is only good for 1758 @ 1.75v~core, upping it to 1.85 makes no difference...
If you're not gonna o/c it get the t~bred, but if it starts adding up much more $%£'s than the 1600+ is it worth it to you?. 1600~AGOIA's were/are good chips... |

TBredB 1800+ chips will be out next month. Get one of those puppies, if you can wait. They start shipping from Dresden tomorrow.
Wouldn't you like a $75 processor that can get over 2200 Mhz?

1600+ AGOIA and newer should be reasonably able to run at 1900MHz if you have GOOD cooling and voltage. Zoson has had even better luck. TBredAs are probably in the same range (1900-2000) but run much hotter.
I have an AGOIA with water at 1900MHz, and a AIRGA TBred (2200+) at 2000. The AGOIA is right at its limit, however. |

TBredB = revision b. These are the good ones. They will start at 1700+ from the looks of it. Shipping started today!
