Yeah, after I posted that picture here I had someone explain what exactly is happening... like you said, no good.
I didn't build or fill the system myself but there are a couple adjustments on the chiller and one of them seems to affect the "chill" this thing puts out. If I adjust it so there is no frost on the compressor my water temps rise from ~2c to ~9c(fully loaded system). Which I can live with if it means extending the life of the compressor. Thanks for pointing out the danger to my system. |

one question.. couldnt you just put those TEC's together without the middle plate? I mean.. you can after all get multiple staged TEC's from the manufacturer, and they get away with it. After all you are just eliminiating another joint.

Yeah, but no, its a 50mm and a 40mm peltier. and I wasnt planning on stacking peltiers. I just decided to do it because I could see what kind of temps I can acheive. If I am really feeling up to it, Ill see how cold I can get my duron 850(stock 45watts) It wont handle more than 60 watts any colder than it would be with just the 226 Im thinking.
-edit- I calculated my cold plate temp to be around -66c Lets see what happens Jon Last edited by JFettig; 09-20-2003 at 10:54 PM. |

so were you looking for this kind of frost?
Or this kind of frost? I bet I could pull some more with insulation. I still gotta do a little work on my powersuply, the transformer was getting quite toasty. Jon |

I was wondering how low I could get the cpu to go with a water cooling system and two of these on top of each other. Also could the two of those run on one 300watt dedicated power supply? I'm really new to this thanks!

this may sound like a stupid question but, if your getting frost and you put it on your CPU would you need to protect it from condensation since its already frozen the droplets?? or would the CPU start to melt the frost faster than it can freeze it.

the LLL on a compunurse means below freezing think. GGG means it will detonate. So I would be careful joemac.
