Default Just got a used 2400XP-M...Toasted/Cooked?

I just got in a 2400+ XP-M with the right stepping from a ebayer. The dude said he ran it at 2.5GHz (12.5x200). ...does it looked cooked to you guys?

The discoloration is scarying me, as are the melted looking rubber thingys.

I have to wait another day or two for the motherboard to come in so I can't test it right off. The brown one is the OCed XP-M. The slate-blue one is my 6yearold 900MHz T-Bird. FYI the seller has 100% positive feedback, so I don't doubt him too much. Perhaps he just pushed this chip a little too far and it still works, just compromised?

Thanks,
DrCR

I've seen some pretty hairy looking hardware work just fine. It does look like it got a little hot, but there is no way to tell for sure until you plug it in. Guess I wasn't that much help after all

^ lol.

The guy said he ran it with a vcore of 1.7v and mostly at 2.4GHz, but 2.6GHz occationally during the winter. He did say though that he adjusted from 2.6-2.4 depending on the ambient to keep the max temp within 50c, which is a reasonable max temp in my opinion.

He really does seem like a first rate guy. I'm thinking despite the scary-looking asthetics, it will indeed perform just fine.
