I have a 350w power supply and 5 fans... and it works when I turn off 2 of the fans.

I thought a 350w power supply could handle more than 3 fans and a CC light?

your psu sucks

you should look at an antec 400w, or CWT 420, or one in the directron 3 fan series. Just DO NOT buy an enermax

Ugh, look at your 5v line values, I bet they are out of spec, especially if you are on a T-Bird system above 1.4. I have found that at high OC's if the 5v line drops below 4.8 you start getting problems.

then if you do a mod to it, your 13v line will be too high (yes I did type 13v)

3.3v @ 3.47v
5v @ 4.92v
12v @ 12.24v

I can't believe that I've been here that long, and never knew about the enermax = crap.... Oh well, I don't have the money right now to change it out.

FWIW, on my 1.2@1400 with enermax 350w the 5v runs at 5.03 idle and drops to 4.95 under load, while the 12v idles at 12.43 and rises to 12.54 under load.

It's just a 365watt Enermax. It does have a fan header that connects the the mobo that adjusts the speed of the fan, but that's it.

I think one of the problems people are experiencing with larger power supplies like the enermax 650 is not the supply but their homes. I know I've got a lot of equipment plugged into the walls of my home that are drawing power. And since it's a 30 year old home with on 15amp breakers I think that's where my main power problem lies. And that 15 amp breaker is spread across 3 rooms. I won't deny the 5volt rail some of the 350 enermaxes have. But I think not enough has been looked into regarding how much load people are placing on their home wiring. I don't think anyone thought someone would be using as much electricity as I do in 1969, the year my house was built.

I started thinking about this because I downgraded from an enermax 650 to an antec 400. The 650 definitely can provide enough power. But I could tell it was causing some kinda of power problem since my computer wouldn't boot at the start up unless I unplugged the CDROMS. After I changed power supplies I haven't had any more problems. I tried a cheapo 300watt enlight and that didn't cut it either. I would have picked up a smaller enermax but the antec was on sale at CompUSA. Again I think part of the problem with power supplies is the demand people are placing on their old homes. I would like to hear from people living in new homes with wiring up to current code to see if they have problems with enermax or large watt power supplies. I'm guessing that they don't. Maybe I'm wrong but it's just a thought.

Yup... When we finished the basement to my house (where I reside) we put in 20 amp circuts per room. Just punched a few more plates outa the circut breaker and hooked 'em up. But then, every other socket in my basement is wired for Cat5+Cable+2 phone line+2 power connectors

I can put my computer anywhere

enermax sucks, period. dont let the looks fool you, it may look good and have a quality feel, but on the inside it's just another crappy PSU. my 5v has gonna down to 4.54v at times, with the system nearly frozen. i could volt mod it , but that would raise all the voltages and the 12v line is @ 12.30 right now and it will be 13v or so with the mod. AVOID ENERMAX AT ALL COSTS !!!!!!!
