Well, about time I fried my mobo. AN7 on the way.
Guess what? When you are checking your NF7's modified chipset voltage with a multimeter, you really have to have steady hands or you will fry something. I happened to slip and accidentally short some very important looking mosfet thing and my southbridge got so hot all of a sudden that the thermal tape on the heatsink for it fell off. Every time I turn it on now it doesnt do anything and then the southbridge gets super hot. Oh well, it is about time that thing died after all the crap I put it through.
I just bought the Abit AN7 on newegg for about 95 bucks and was wondering if anyone has it. If you do, what are the main differences between the overclocking ability of it and other motherboards in the NF2 category? Also, is that the same HSF on the northbridge as on the other abit motherboards? It looks kinda different for some reason. Cant wait for uGuru
