Default Innovatek res?

I was looking through the innovatek web site www.innovatek.de and came accross their reservoir, I found an english translation of what it is here.
Doesnt really explain a whole lot though.

Anyone have any experience with a res like this one? Whats the purpose of connecting it directly to an eheim pump? I was in the process of constructing my own res similar to the pvc ones floating about, but having a fixed anodized res is more appealing to me. Anyone have any thoughts on these?

Damn I really want one of those. That is exactly what I need for my Chilli Pro H2O cooling project. Anyone who knows how to get one hook me up w/ a place.

that actually does look really cool, it would work as an airtrap, and of course make it easy to fill. Does it only work with a certain number of eheim pumps, or every single one?

Innovatek claims it only works with the following models:
1005,1046 and 1048.
However i guess it would fit on the preassure side of the 1250 also since it has the same connector as the 1048 has on it's inlet and outlet.

It would probably work w/ the 1250 too, but it is a little taller so it wouldn't rest on the ground. You can use it in any system as you can just add barbs to the res.

Ok, found a few resellers...

There is this one which is the least expensive at 35.00 Euros ($31.00 US dollars aprox). However it looks like this one doesnt use the metal sleave for the hose and instead uses a blue plastic one... im think it could be replaced with something else... although the innovatek water blocks that were reviewed by (I forget who) used some fittings that didnt work with our plumbing, something about threading I think. That could be an issue for some. Another place to buy it which I think is the same price but shows the metal fitting is www.overclockingcard.de - the name of this res in german is "Ausgleichsbehälter" So look for that name on that site. The place that I listed above has them for 55 Euro ($48.00 USD), they also show the metal fitting...

Hope this helps! I think I might order one, im using a 1250 but I dont think it should be much of a problem... Tomshardware also mentions some of the innovatek stuff in one of its waterblock reviews.

I reckon it'd be fairly easy to make an Aluminium resivoir yourself, even without any form of tooling. Just use the side of a bench to bend it, and some jbweld to seal it all up

HighSpeedPC in the US, carries the Innovatek waterblock, I'd guess they can get the reservoir too.

If the pump/res were at the bottom of the loop, wouldn't the air tend to be trapped at the top of the loop, and fill up the base of the reservoir?

With a good eheim, boyancy is insignificant. FLow is so fast bubles make the entire circuit along with the coolant. With my 1250 I can watch the same air bubble loop the entire setup every 4-5 seconds.
