How to format a 240gb hdd?

Me getting 2 120gb hdds for raid 0.
Anyone know how to format such a big capacity in fat32?

Umm Fat 32 can support like a 2 terrabyte disk cant it?

NTFS would be the way to go since FAT32 will be a DOG on a disk that big.

I could be wrong but I think fat32 may even go up to 2 exabytes. but I'm not sure since I've found a lot of wrong info in this A+ book

Ummm no Fat32 is only up to 2 Terra.

only 2 terbtyes??? well that just blows......i agree though drop fat32 and just use ntfs with 2k or xp (98 wont take ntfs just in case u didnt know)

put them into raid 0 in the controllors bios, put the windows cd in, and tell it t go to the array and format the array

Yeah, 2000 gigs for FAT32 and 4000 gigs for NTFS are the limits I believe.

If you want to use FAT32, you can use FDISK and Format. The sizes won't show up right. I believe that the programs wig out a bit over 64 gigs. They still work, they just don't show the full capacity. What you do is run FDISK, choose option 1, then choose option 1 again (use maximum available size and make it active). Prepare to be waiting a LONG time to format though. I think a 40 gig drive takes 20-30 minutes from experience, so figure about 6 times that or 2-3 hours.

If you're using XP and NTFS, you could use the quick format option and format it in about 20-30 seconds.

Make sure to update your BIOS. If you're having trouble getting it to recognize that size, your bios is probably the culprit.
