Default Need help cooling p4

I'm a newbie here, I'm just wondering what kind of heatsink/fan would be a decent/cheap/and fairly quiet for me to use on my p4 478 while I get it working. I later plan on creating a water cooling system, sounds lots of fun and very effective, but for now I only want to be able to use my computer without frying the cpu. I saw the dragonorb on so-trick computers for only 19 bucks and it looks fairly decent, I don't want to spend more than 30 for now.

get an AVC Sunflower ($28.95 + S&H). I got one (from Cooler Extreme too) & it performs as well if not better than the hyped SWIFTECH MCX-478 ($73.00), which many people will tell you is the best. I think it is only so good because of the big fan. I put a Delta on my Sunflower & it can't be beat as far as aircooling.

if you have the oem heatsink just leave it and run with it.

http://www.kdcomputers.com/eui/prime/profile/772.htm is a great option, that price is without a fan, but I'm sure you have plenty of 80mm's lying around

Wow brad, you're insane, good call. I don't have the OEM stuff so I bought the AX478, that was before you posted here, you must have read my mind. And well, I'm pretty much a newbie so I didn't have any 80mms layin around but i bought a delta. My mommy was payin for it all so i got a little more than I was planning on

what do you think of the ax478?

I have like 20 80mm fans here, I just get used to it I guess

well, seeing as how i haven't gotten my computer to work yet.. I can't tell you about the ax478 yet... It looks cool though, and I'm gonna have to get used to this delta fan it's damn loud. Read my post in the random nonsense section to see my problems with my computer.
