This could solve the problem of diminished water supply to the WC system. You could run hose to outside your house and bolt this sucker to an outside wall. All of the steam stays outside of the house, and no man-peeing noises disturb your Quake session. Since it is self contained, it doesn't matter if a few bugs or dirt get into it since you can clean that out easily enough without disturbing the fluid in your computer. I would love to set one of these up that is that high but 1.5ft wide up on top of my apartment building for some ubercooling. Plus, my house would become a landmark of sorts ("look, there is the freak's house!").

apart from that it is ultra cool, but if it is outside why wouldn't you run 195cfm delta's?

No, but seriously, hook up the most powerful fans ya want, put a HUGE res on the bottom, and instead of the copper coils, use a huge heater core. Store the pump in the res submerged, and use an old PSU to power the fans. Voila, your own nuclear power plant cooling tower. If a bird shits in it, who cares: just rinse it out every few weeks and you'll be cool.

Ya'll make it sound like the guy is building a tower in his backyard or something...

He's posted here some time back, and I suggested that he replace the exterior tube with a metal one, so that he could cool the returning coolant, and not loose so much of it. I got shot down. Oh well...

This is almost taking cooling to the psycho extreme of dunking your heater core in your outdoor swimming pool during the winter. Speaking of which, that wouldn't be too bad of an idea ... if I had a f*ckin' swimming pool and could figure out a way to keep it from freezing without using a water heater.

You know nexxo, that same thought crossed my mind. He'd need the plexiglass to have bumpy ridges, though, like the straws in some old water bottles that 7 Eleven used to sell to get the full affect ... that would be awful purdy sitting next to your desk ... if you don't mind the "God Taking A Leak" sound.

DAMN IT! WTF do you people get the MONEY and TIME TIME TIME for all of this stuff! I see folks blowing $70-100 on an overpriced pump, HUGE clear tubing that costs as much as silver/lb! All these damn lights and voltage, temp, air monitors, wtf... I need to lose some "life" and get aboard?! Argh.

The problem with nebulizing the water is that the air flow will push it all out: it'd turn into a humidifier (good if you're in Denmark, bad if you're in Houston, TX).
