maybe they just suck and didn't even think one little bit. this keeps getting better, the 1/2" issue, and now the mounting issue.

what an unfinished piece of shit

Haha now I think we can clearly see why Joe commented on IPKonfig in his now-famous worklog:

"Each and every part of this kit has 100% perfection stamped into it. "

-Se7en -IPKonfig

From this "review":

http://www.ipkonfig.com/Reviews/Misc/Blizzard-Z4/

Or maybe the guy just doesn't know enough about water-cooling to accurately evaluate products on a hardware site. The kit IS shiny after all...

Ok the ipkonfig guy has to be working for OCH. Really I have never ever read a review like that one. I wonder what other services *cough cough* he performs for OCH.

I try not to ascribe ulterior motives to something that can be explained by incompetence. Probably the guy just doesn't know much about water cooling and so he doesn't have the critical eye needed to evaluate a pretty but shitty kit. After all, it IS shiny.

I still don't understand the purpose of their mounting scheme. Maybe it reduces the torque each spring exerts on the block about the core, reducing the effects of uneven tension...Then again, maybe it's just a bad idea.
I am not to worried about the getting paid, I just hate to see people getting ripped off for $40-$50 for this POS. They can get a Maze 2 or a Spir@l for that or something else better.
This outfit knows that the 1/2" barbs are overlapping the channels, they know the channels are to small to do much good, they know their block isn't a performance king by any standard yet they still claim this is the best block there is. I think this company is as bad as OCWC was, maybe worst because they actually deliever the crappy, over hyped, blocks to people. i hope they find this thread sooner or later.

they won't listen, we've done it before. Go to the [h], and search their forums for a guy called 'hardware' I got kylie to ban him, and if you read his posts wit will be apparent why. Trust me there is no point emailing those arseholes

I got it all hooked up and running 20C over water temp!!!

Worst part is I am running the XP1600 bone stock at 1400mhz 133FSB 1.75Vcore.

I am going to swap pumps around and remount the block again to rule out any install problems.

Yep and overclocked about 8C over. I found a major problem and that is the edge of the copper bottom where it fit at the hump of the socket it waaaaaay to tight there. I had to push it down to get it off the rise if the socket, and then it dosn't like to screw down very well. For a newbie this can mean a toasted CPU!!! it would have been simple to make it fit a lot better.

I reworked my system to where it is just like my normal setup but with 1/2" hoses to fit on the barbs. Once the sealant dries I will fire it back up.

I still have not figured out why the put that HUGE Al top on there. Any decent block dosn't get much heat to the top. They say it is to remove heat, but the heat shouldn't make it up there in the first place.

Their mounting system sucks to say the least. Why they couldn't just use the normal holes and forget about the stupid plastic adapters is beyond me. This block was not well thought out at all. I am amazed they figured out how to mill it. Who ever came up with the idea has hit the crack pipe a few to many times.

the adapter was for use with socket 478 and socket a and so on, but from what I've heard with user experiences, it's a half assed attempt at pleasing everyone

Well I give up!!! I got the flow rate up, got it properly mounted, ect... I got it to 15C over water temp at 40C load.

Pretty freeking sorry for a $40-$50 block!!! That was a default with the Xp1600+ aswell.

I just dropped on an Air cooler and it is running 37C load with 23C room temp at defaults. It is a $9 cooler to boot!!!

That outfit is there to screw people out of their money. Over priced crap!!!

I have tested air cooling solutions that are 14-15C over room temp (measured with diode) using a 1600+ at default.

I've got an idea, just mill out all the channels and run it as an open block, and see what happens

I definitely want it back now, JD!

On a serious note, I just got my InnovaCool block and I like what I see I just have to wait on my thread adapters before I can actually use it. It's a heavy block, for it's size. Looks like it's a huge copper cylinder with ribbing cut into the sides and bonded to a big anodized AL casing. The bottom of the copper is polished to a beautiful mirror finish.

I think that is what I will do actually. It is the only thing I can really do anyway. All the holes are in the wrong spot to do anything else. Being I already have the freeking mounts in place I just as well try it.

I just don't understand the way this thing is put together.

Why did the mill the top of the channel walls and then the top peice??? Dosn't that defeat the whole purpose of having a channel in the first place? And then the over lapping barbs, and then the 1/16" thick base? WTF where they thinking. This is a total waste of time milling this crap. This great machine work should be put to better use with a good block!!!.

schoolie with a bit of muscle you can fit 1/2" barb x 1/4" NPT into that Innovatek:

yeah, as far as I can see the water just goes straight across the top of the fins, and out the exit, it doesn't go through the channels at all.

Now to figure out how to get this black crap off.

Got it all hooked up and running 10C over water temp at 39C load. Still have not overclocked any though. Will raise the Vcore and speed here in a little while.

Should I link this thread to a one at the overclockers.com forums? Sadly, they seem to think that the Z4 is a "top performer" over there in the same league as the maze2 and such, but this thread makes my stomach churn. That block is pretty funny, but I wouldn't be so jolly if I bought one.

Sure.

Running the XP1600+@1523mhz 145FSB 2.05Vcore and now 11C over water temp at 41C load. I think I made a usuable block of it.
