Default COPPER vs. ALuminum is RONG!!!

Im sorry to say, but Copper is just not better for cooling then aluminum.
I know, I know. people always are saying that COPPER IS BETTER FOR COOLING.
but its not. just cause it has better heat transfer then aluiminum doesnt mean it has better cooling properties. it just isnt the way the world works.

ITS IS A INVALID DISPUTE. copper isnt better for cooling then aluminum.
People dont realise what that means.
copper does the opposite of cooling. heat transfer doesnt mean that it disapates the heat and just gets rid of it.

All it does is take heat, and sticks it on the hole piece of metal. that doesnt mean its cooling. IT MEANS IT HEATS UP MORE RAPIDLY CAUSE IT IS THERMAL CONDUCTIVE, MEANING IT CONDUCTS HEAT BETTER THEN ALUMINUM, MEANING THAT IT DOESNT RESISTS HEAT FROM GROWING.
ITS ALL A LIE, COPPER IS A FAKE. IT WONT HELP THERMAL REDUCTION.

ALUMINUM IS A METAL THAT RESISTS HEAT, AND DOESNT CONDUCT IT. THAT IS WHY IN ROOM TEMP. IT IS ALWAYS COOLER THEN THE SURRONDINGS.

think of it this way people. if you wonted to make a high voltage protecter suit or whatever you wont, that will allow you to work around high voltage cables, YOU WOULDNT WONT A CONDUCTIVE METERIAL LIKE PLATNUM AS YOUR PRTECTION FROM ELECTRICITY! BECAUSE IF YOU DID, IT WOULD ALLOW THE ELECTRICITY TO TRANSFER TO YOUR BoDY AND KILL YOU.

ALUMINUM IS BETTER, AND WILL RESISTS HEAT AND STAY COOLER BETTER THEN COPPER.

First of all, where did you get this information?

Sorry Mr. Wing, but I have seen data that suggests that copper is indeed better than aluminum. One example is the Thermalright XP90 (aluminum) versus XP90C (copper) testing, where the XP90C very significantly outperformed its aluminum counterpart and it even outperformed it with a much slower spinning fan. XP90C (48CFM fan) also beat the XP120 (69CFM fan) by 1.1C on the Prescott via probe and 5C via the system sensor.

ahhh upon further inspection, i realize that i am RONG and that aluminum is indeed better than copper, because copper is a fake and a lie. why did i ever put my heart and trust in copper i will never know, for now i know that it was all a big lie all along. =(

This has to be someone taking the piss. That's such a blatant violation of the zeroth law of thermodynamics that I can't believe anyone likely to come on here would actually believe it. Own up, which one of you is trying to get us to bite  .

Now now, have to give the guy some credit. He spent all this time trying to figure out how to get some ascii characters, and attempt some leet speak so he could barge on in here and impress us all, the least we could do is appreciate it....Yea

Here I've been using all this electricity to run the AC when all I needed was a big block of aluminum in the middle of the room. Damn, what a waste!

You know I just got a great idea

We need to make a hall of fame forum, to move threads that are some of the corner stones of what makes procooling special... and those special people who make procooling folks laugh

OMG, this must be a new scientific discovery.
Wings, go tell that to several multimillion dollar corporations that they got it wrong and should use aluminum heatsinks and WB's over copper. They should pay you handsomely for this new info you have. I mean you could be rich!!!

Seriously, this has to be a joke but the CAPS and RONG suggest he is very serious.

Class is now session.

Aluminum doesn't resist heat at all. It is a thermal condutor but not as good as copper. You are treating them like apples and orange when it's more like valencia orange vs naval orange, copper vs silver, Latoya Jackson vs Michael Jackson.

What you are thinking of is specificity of heat. Cooper's specific heat is 387 J/kg*C and Alum is 900 J/kg*C. The delta Temp is measured by J / (mass * specific heat) = delta T.

Problem is Alum is less dense than copper, so the copper mass is much higher. This makes the delta T of copper and alum about equal. Thermal conductivity is just important and you left that out of the presentation. So go review that topic Wings and know your material before presenting infront of the class.

I give you a D for the presentation and F because of your hacking of the English language.

Ya know... I just wonder if this post was done by someone who is normally a serious poster, but just wanted to see what happens when you kick a hornet's nest.

In any case, it gave me a chuckle.

Umm what

No Genmay is horribly stupid. But I appreciate the site quite a lot. What it does is keep all the stupid on the internet in one spot. Its easier to track it that way

Also guys, this may be a serious post, since wings IP doesnt match any other users IP on the forums... hmmm

OMG, we've been going the wrong way. Obviously, we need to INSULATE our CPUs, not conduct heat away from them.
I expect a heap of glass and ceramic water blocks and HSF's to hit the market any minute now.
I wonder if Cathar will make a version of the Storm out of Space-Shuttle-Tile ceramic instead of ripping us off with silver. Cathar you Bastard!

P.S. Sarcasm may be in use in thread above.
