In a more technical and mature post:
Shims are evil cause they will more likely cause you trouble with your CPU than help it. Becuase Die's are not the same depth from each chip they core may be slightly higher or lower. Also the shims are not perfect, they claim high tollerances, but I have seen a few of these... there is no precision work going on wiht those... You can use them, but they are a false sense of security.
