Default Good idea or a problem!?!?!

Ok well my idea was....I modded my case to put two 120mm fans in the side window for better cooling. And its not really doing the trick for me because its hard to keep my computer room cold enough for the fans to do much. So my idea was to get an AC unit and set it in my room. I would get tubing and take out my two 120mm's and put the tubing where i cut the holes for my cans...some duct tape and it should be good. An AC would cost around 100$ and this is where the problem is. I am currently not OC'ed because of my cooling issue. And i have the equipment just not the cooling. I am not looking to do some extreme OC'ing here i just want to get pretty high. So my question is how much is a good WC setup cost and is it worth it in my situation?? Thanks for you help!!!!

Here are pics of the holes i cut in my case

Well then!

Ok, the problem is that those fans aren't going to do a whole heck of a lot, except to keep your case air moving, which it probably is in the first place. In your case you have two paths to a better temp (wc aside):
1-duct the window fan to the cpu's HSF.

2-get a better HSF.

the $100 fan in the room isn't going to do anything but move air around. A WC setup could cost $200, and depending on your setup, could drop the CPU temp by 10 deg C, it's really hard to say for sure.

HAHA!!! thanks for saying something. Well those pics were taken a while ago...right now i have an SLK-947U and a 92mm tornado. The SC will put out cold air so it will deffinately be cooler...but what im wondering is, is it worth it to spend the extra 100 or whatever dollars to get better cooling for my OC's....it is a hard question.

Asked and answered

Otherwise, you should try to figure out what overclock you're capable of, right now, before jumping into water cooling. Have you looked over OC's overclock database?
