Default water window

ok heres my plan im gona snag one of these:

and im wanna put a small res in as the window in the side panel....ok to explain....have the res the entire window in the side panel, but only like an inch or 2 deep supported at that botom by some sorta stand..and have barbs some where in it (probablly a couple @ the top and a couple at the bottom) so that it will be hooked into my wc rig....now for my question...how to secure the res itself intothe computer so i can still move it without it dropin the water out....anythoughts....

Doing the door, could/will be a pain, because you take the door off and on.

Doing a front panel mod seems like a better option. But basically yea, that would be the design for it... And that designe can pretty much be oriented in any way. A little tap for filling might be a nice adition as well... (or perhaps a drain)

you will not be dissapointed if you get that case, i can assure you. it doesn't have a removable mobo tray, but the construction and size make up for it.

the only thing I'd be worried about would be all the tubing popping off the barbs when you pull it out. apart from that, very cool idea.

That looks like a newer version on my case. Works great for me.

Now, what are you trying to accomplish with your res? Are you building your res. right onto the side panel or are you trying to attach a res. container onto the side of the panel?

hmmmmmmmmm Interesting idea. Not sure how you are going to attach a box to the window and still keep it water tight.... epoxy might do it

Or you could always try the usual standby.......duct tape

Hey, that's the case I'm gonna use!

I'm getting it here though:
http://www.directron.com/da10bd.html

(not a plug for directron, it's just local to me.)

I can't see the pics, but from what you've said...

You could weld or bolt a couple of U clips to hold a plexi-res against that side panel.

I think it's a really great idea, it even makes me want to expand on the idea and turn that window into a bong! but I have something else in mind.

This would take some doing, but here's my two cents

Mount the res so it's part of the case and swings out for maintenance. Then put a window in the side panel or just cut a hole and make sure it lines up good. The water panel would be hinged near the front so you would have easy access to the system. The 3.5" drive bay locking clips might be an issue but you can just cut them off. This way you'd never need to remove the panel, and could still access the system interior.
