Need advise on a fast reliable DDR solution.
Happy 4th of July.
I need some help fellas. Which Motherboard/CPU combo is the most stable, while being most overclockeable and compatable with all other hardware and software? urrently i have a AVA266(1133 t-bird) w/ 512 pc2100 ddr and it is unstable. I am looking to replace the mainboard and maybe the chip as well. Othe system config: Video: Leadtek Geforce 2 GTS Pro 64 DDR Audio: SBLive GamerX Net: 3Com 905b Harddrive: Seagate ATA66 Nay Suggestions or ideas?

Asus A7M266, quality motherboard, 6 layers. I have built 7 systems with this board, have not had a problem yet. Little more expensive than other AMD 760 boards, but worth it IMHO.

Actually its probably your RAM. I have heard of issues with Samsung RAM and ALI boards. Try and return it and get some crucial.

Beats me then. Did you try all the stupid stuff (BIOS flash, drivers etc)?

Okay lets compare 760 northbridge chipsets then.
Your thoughts? Asus: A7M266 FIC: AD11 Others?

Crucial by far is making the best and most overclockable DDR right now. It is so cheap that I bought another 128 mb this week($26!).
I run my system at 168 front side bus and it is very stable. I have gotten it up to 175, but not 100% stable. I know several people at AMDZone forum who run the A7M266 with Crucial at similar FSB speeds. Badly, the Epox DDR board is supposed to be excellent as well, much cheaper too. If you want some good info. on AMD DDR boards, go over to www.amdzone.com and check out the AMD chipset forum. Good luck. |

Don't wait for KG7... overpriced and too late to the market. The 8K7A is pretty damn killer right about now... I'd go for that. I'm making a system with that in a week.

Is the Raid epox the same as far as overclocking as the regular 8k7a?
