lets play "can you help me identify this pelt"
i ordered it from dangerden and it supposly is a 172w tec. now prinited on the tec is 0306 and on DD's site it stated 0301 Im asking becasue they didn't ship me my whole order and the box was open and i guess fedex lost some stuff.. is they a way to test it? I know by hooking up an ampmeter but all i have is a MM... thanks

Ask DD, and I would ship it back with an explanation that the box was open on delivery and not as advertized. You should have declined the shipment. Never accept the package if it is open on delivery.

well I called and they told me it was a 172w tec and that the numbers on it matched up with every other 172w they had and she overnight mailed me the missing parts...

My impression was that those numbers were date codes.
0306 = Week 6 of 2003 |

thats very possible but I had a 172w tec before the 0306 like in december 2002 and it was 030x so unless they stamp dates in advance

Ok, that shoots that theory.
I've got several TEC's that are supposed to be 172W. If I remember I'll post their numbers tonight. |

You can work out if its a 172 or not by the thickness, smaller wattage ones are thicker. If you take a caliper/vernier or micrometer to it, or a ruler if you got good eyes i can tell you.

Ok, I've got:
Two 0202's bought secondhand, don't know how old. One 0206 bought about 9 months ago from DD. One 0302 bought about a month ago from DD. |
