Why dont you just try out your original block before you go an make more of them?

I am sure that the rest of us are just dieing to see how that thing preforms! Just a suggestion

My marketability studies are very positive and I have very high confidence in performance. It should perform well not "preform", that's what a few discarded prototypes are
Of course I will keep all informed, and thanks for the input.

I can honestly say, that making them is alot more fun then testing and trying them..... so keep on cutting!!!!!

I broke my last 1/8 endmill last night carving a block design someone emailed to DTek. Damn them small endmills!

Here's a shroud I made. It's one piece of heavy gauge aluminum bent to fit with a two inch depth. Would this depth be optimal?
There will be a center piece for rigidity and act as a baffle.

Tygon hose, brass barbs, and polycarbonate order came in other day. The 3/8" tubing seems excellent but I don't like the 1/2" because it collapses too easy on long lengths but will work good for shorter lengths.

Also put together another aluminum block for testing.
I tried getting a flow rate but it went through so fast I can't be too accurate. It took 13-14 seconds to blow 2 gallons through the pump and block. I had 1 ft of 1/2" I.D. hose on the intake bent down in a tub with three gallons of water in it. The pump was on a paint can beside the tub and I had 1 1/2 ft of 1/2" I.D. hose to my waterblock suspended above so the total rise was near 3 ft considering the height of the pump and outlet barb.

7s per gal = 8.57 gal per min = 514 gph @ 3' head, pump + block

hehe, your blocks are insane, why don't you try a 3/4" ID barb, and a circle of 3/8" barbs?

Nice, looking forward to seeing some temp results, I'm particulary keen on idle v load temps to compare with my own results using this block since we're both using high flow set ups and p4's (allthough you have signifigantly more flow than me)

I just read the thread but according to you there, you have a Tbird and use evaporative cooling, sounds like comparing apples to oranges unless I missed something.

BTW folks, it's alive Although I don't have my shroud and fans yet. The heatercore is by a fan with air blowing around it and not much forced through it like this. I'll try some testing tonight and overclocking.

when I posted that I was running an athlon rig, I am now running a p4 1.8@2.6, 1.7v, hence my interest in temps.

I got a little overclocking in and here's a pic of my high so far.

P41.6A
In another test to attempt a c/w
water temp 30C
cpu temp 45.5C full load
vcore 1.9volts
cpu clock 2535.41mhz
watts from benchtest.com 152.55

c/w comes out to .1016 for what it's worth. I measured the water with the mobo thermister.

I'm not using the shroud and fans yet because I don't have them.
Also I used ASIII so it hasn't had time to set in.

My difference from idle to full load is 3C. Checked it at 2135mhz 1.68vcore. 34C idle 37C load for half an hour. Response back to idle temps are quick, 2 seconds. Is this good? Sure beats air cooling

that's almost exactly the same idle/full load difference that I have, does water cooling rock or what?

Right now I'm ust using the DD Cooler Cube. Not too hapy with the results. Thinking about making a bong....or evaporative cooling device. But load temp of 42/43°C returns to idle temp of 39/40°C within seconds as is. Water cooling totally rocks!!!!

a properly set up bong will kick the snot out of rad based water cooling, give it a try, they don't cost much to set up(they do require re-filling/matinence though)

I'm temporally using a heatercore while I build my new case(yes another one)

I'm using a pump rated at 2000L/H (532GPH) and getting in system 750L/H (200GPH) the block you've already seen.

P4 1.8a@2.5 1.69v

water 25.8c (senfu probe)

idle 36c
load 39c

kind of get the impression that the limiting factor is the core to heatspreader interface, thoughts?

note; the water-idle-load temp differences stay pretty well constant , ie; if the water's 15c the cpu is 25c idle, 28c load ect.
