should i go ddr333 or should i wait for the clawhammer?

i'm thinking of jumping on the ddr333 bandwagon, but i'm not sure if i should wait for the clawhammer to be released. the abit ax7-333r is a very nice mobo for the price, but is it worth it?

you have to remember that the hammer is designed for 64bit, and 32bit. The barton will probably be faster than it in 32bit.

Why not consider a P4 with dual channel ddr?

i would preferably want to stay away from intel...i wouldn't go as far as to say i'm an amd fanboy, its just that intel doesn't exactly "float my boat" as they say

OK, a 1.6a is lucrative, but it just doesn't seem right in some strange and twisted way..

right now i'm leaning towards an xp 1800, but i'll wait and see how the thoroughbred works out. i'm looking at the roadmap right now, and the clawhammer looks like it's a little far away at the moment..

I have a 1.6a@2.72 on air. c'mon, you know if you look at this bench you will want a p4!

That looks kind of like my p4 benches but my athlon xp1900 still kiks it's butt.

hmm, the p4 looks EXTREMELY tempting, but i'm still not sure...

kosem, what mobo do you have and how much did you pay for it?

Here is the athlon benches for the same parts. I just swapped the motherboard and cpu. Also the cost was about the same for the p4/motherboard as for the xp/motherboard.

You can check out my XP1600 benches here under Benchmarks, see the screen shot under screenshots The 1.6 still beats me out @ 2.7, but these were done @ 1685, which is where I'm at now, until I can upgrade my ram. If I could get to 2.0 Gig, I'd probably be close to matching the Intel. We'll see.
