BIOS flash within windows

Well when I bought this MOBO (gigabyte 7 vrxp) it came with a Q-flash utility that allows you to flash the bios within windows. You run the program and it gives you different servers to choose from, you pick one and it downloads the new BIOS and the asks if you want to install it, you click yes and thats it, it's flashed. So far it works great. I figure if there was a problem I would have noticed from the begining

Anyway no more doing it the old way

that sort of stuff scares me, windows may (will?) crash....

i prefer dos based flashes

well, if it had a back-up BIOS thats read-only, it wouldnt be a problem. id take windows-based flashing over DOS based; its easier.

I would enjoy Windows based flashing purly for the fact that I removed the floppy drive from my computer over a year ago, and I refuse to put it back in for any reason.

That way I don't have to boot with the win98 CD rom, exit out to it's makeshift dos, and load drivers off a CD (because win98 loads a dos with cd support).

No shit WebMasta. I'm ****ing tired of using floppy drives. Now and then I do have to out it back in for certain pain in the ass problems that crop up.

They can release MAX motherboards the do away with PS2 and other shit but they won't do away with the floppy.
