Your correct Groth, looks like every other hour which would explain the double output. Damn...
I hear the new protein is 102? So it should be a slower than the last few. Hopefully the updates have/will go OK. EDIT: Correction, Quote:

Also, i heard that the HT on P4s werent speeding folding by that much. I made a test on one. Made a benchmark with only one instance of foldit working, and another with it on. This is the result: |

At least one of my comps updated but only 406 points the last upload is a little distressing.

I beleive I saw something about doing that at Xtreme. Was supposed to run slower on each client individually but more total output in the end. Or something like that............ |

Did you devote 150 mg of RAM for each? Just try'n to understand what works best for a P4 rig, I'm thinking of buying a Intel rig vs a AMD64, price drop makes them look pretty good. Sorry to say I don't have enough points to regain 5th place for the team. Will have to wait for Joe to get back I guess. Will at least make regaining 5th faster when Joe does get back to full power. |

Yes, but only slightly.
The pic that i have atached, are both scores. The first one, runned alone. The second, runned with another instance at the same time It raised very very litle. Both with 150 megs. I could say it gained at least 90% speed for using 2 instances instead of 1 (guesstimate). |

Just for a note I will be shutting my systems down tonight as my multiple computer in one water cooling loop is taking form rapidly now. I am going to stuff 3 comps into a large box I am building and they all will be cooled off one water cooling loop with blocks I am making (2 already done http://forums.procooling.com/vbb/sho...&threadid=8240).
Now is a good time to do this as it looks like I will have about 2 month to work on it (might take that long) while this slow protein is going. Once it is done and operational I should have 500-1000 more mhz out of those comps and might even add a 4th for another 1600mhz. But to early to tell right now. |

Even without Joe's mega farm we are still are holding our own in 5th. Looks like the Genome Collective is out producing us, but being it is a slow protein their not an imediate threat.

Clone! Don't deleting anything yet! There is still hope for recovering your points.
Look for a file named poipi9ac_7_poipi9ac_protein_236_0000029.val and make a copy named poipi9ac_7_poipi9ac_protein_236_0000029_min.val. You want to have a pair of identical files with those two names. Make a backup copy of the two files first, in case you duplicate the wrong one. Try uploading again. If that fails, from a command line change to your folding directory, and run Code:
foldtrajlite -purgeuploadlist 1 foldtrajlite -ut Good Luck! |

With a "xxxxx.val is corrupt, missing or has been tampered with" error, the program will continue to fold, and will buffer the results until the error is cleared up. Not a fatal error. Hence the multiple copies of the set of error messages -- it finishes a generation, tries to upload, throws an error, folds the next generation.
On a friends machine (if I'm called upon for tech service, I sneak DF in ) a couple of months ago, over five hundred generations were buffered in an identical situation. All uploaded after repairs. The .val and _min.val files are essentially identical. One can be substituted for the other in an emergency. If both are corrupt, the -purgeuploadlist command will let you skip generations until good data is found. Edit: I just looked at Clone's stats. A 27,000 point update. Good to see the error cleared up and the points on the board. Last edited by Groth; 11-16-2003 at 06:48 PM. |

*laughs* I'm realy enjoying this slow protein, its like watching a race in slow motion.
I have been viaing for the elusive 15th place and I'm slowly watching my appraoch on Yoshana for ages whilst all the while tring to stay out of Beest's cluches. All the while plagued by recent computer problems. In a fast protein the matter would have been decided in a day but I must say team concerns aside, its "Chariots of Fire" down in mid table here . ~ Boli
