If I go back to a previous idea (limiting the number of simultaneous curves), I could put legends on the main graph. Hmmm....

I quite like being able to put all the curves up at once, sure, its messy, but you can still figure it out. I think using the original background.gif and then making key.gif appear in addition to the curves when you hit "show em" is probably the easiest and cleanest solution.

BalefireX, if you could chop up a set of key gifs (say, 15 by 150 pixels, graph key and name) and a set of name gifs (20 by 200, just the name of the block), I'll do some quick reworkage.
If you look here, you can see how they've been named and numbered, make the name one as wb?name.gif. |

Is this what you wanted?
EDIT: Too many images, download zip here: http://www.monster911.com/wbkey.zip

Damn close, but not quite. Looking for a key gif just like the old ones, symbol plus name, on an opaque white background. The 15 pixels high is good, to able to fit more on the main graph.
Name gifs can be a bit bigger and fancier, they'll be down with the check boxes and act as links to the reviews. Preliminary tests are looking like a max of 18-20 key symbol will fit before they start running over the curves. |

Why not make the line and point images appear between the checkbox and the link with a larger sized point? They'd be a lot more legible that way and it should be pretty straightforward to do.
The redirects to the reviews are an easy enough solution for links. I couldn't figure out how to make the script dig up the proper review without using much fancier tactics. Another suggestion: How about making a metric units X axis on the top? Should be easy enough and satisfy the large portion of the world that uses L/min instead of GPM. Or perhaps an English/metric checkbox? Anyway great work so far guys

Groth: that looks great - some sexy coding going on behind the scenes
pH: the issue is getting the units exactly right for the scale, but i'll give it a shot

A metric backround would be easy, just need to add radio buttons to choose american/useful units. If BalefireX whips one up, I'll jam it in there.

looks and works really great is there a 'principal author' ? BalefireX ? no, I see now that Groth is in the thick of it as well |

Actually groth it looks very good as it is; disregard my comments I guess. I couldn't get to the PC that has Procooling on it last night until it was bedtime for me too No matter though as Groth has whipped up code far superior now anyway.
I'll need to get the whole site zipped up to add it to Procooling if it isn't too much trouble Groth //edit: SLICK groth. Presumably a metric graph would not be any more difficult either My duty is now to generate head loss vs flow curves for all these wbs; gotta get the DMM first (and spend the requisite weeks figuring out how to do the tests properly)

All the gifs and whatnot, grab the html from any of my numerous links.
There are a few comments in there to help you with the portability. As for the text and such, I'm sure you're capable of improving on it. Edit - yeah, a metric background would be really, really easy slip in. |

Metric background... took about ten times longer to make than I originally estimated, and I had to shift the graph 4px to get the X axis correct, but the units are (finally) right
Edit: Fixed picture - because I obviously have no concept of time

hmm so I am guessing the script could easily be set up with a "metric or US" option and then a "grids or blank" option and then generate the appropriate background no sweat.

Looks very nice.
Hey Groth, how about dropping the show'em button and just adding a onClick or onChange parameter to the checkboxes? Perhaps moving the checkboxes and the radio buttons up to the right of the page that way you could have all the controls and data right there on a 1024x768 monitor without having to scroll at all Just a few thoughts... |

With new metric backgrounds. ph, you can just grab the added back2.gif and back3.gif from here.

Dr., it has to fit in the narrower-than-1024 width that comes with its fate of being embedded into procooling's regular page format.
I'll try the onClick/onChange thing, but I suspect it'll eat up too much time redoing stuff with every changed check. |

Shoot, I already see a boo-boo I made. Darn cut and paste, left three of the radio buttons labelled "checked" so that the dot is in the wrong place when it loads. Not serious, but I upped a corrected version anyway.
About this credit, in store only? or can I apply it to my air miles? |
