Looks like we should be making our waterblocks out of silver.

I would not be supprised to see a simple water block made out of silver go for TWICE what you would pay for copper. Silver isn't as valueable it used to be but a lump of silver would set you back somewhat. isn't gold the best for heat conduction anyway?

Upgrades from copper to silver on the blocks I sell are about $100 on average.

Silver is only "very slightly" better than copper at conducting heat, not worth the extra cost AT ALL, unless you're building the ultimate pimp rig.

They are both better than gold. Not sure why people have started saying gold is good all of a sudden.

gold will be better to work with, plus it will not corroad... if everything was made out of gold you can just leave it running for years on end.

Plus its gold man!...

but silver and copper both have a thermal conductivity better than that of gold.

8-ball, i think that many people say that gold is better than silver and copper because they mix up electric conductivity with thermal conductivity. Some time ago even I used to think that gold was better until someone pointed out to me that only the electric conductivity of gold is better than that of copper and silver but thermal condictivity is not

if you take time to lookat the wizard you will see the following

metal conductivity
Silver, Pure 418.0
Copper, Alloy, 11000 388.0
Copper, Pure 386.0
Gold, Pure 318.0
