If I put a PC upside down will the temp go higher? how much?

Heat pipes are only made to work efficiently in one direction. If you place the heatsink in such a position that the siphon can no longer work, you can have a serious temperature climb. How much depends on the designs reliance and engineered effeciency of the thermosyphon.
