Really stupid INtel question
Ok...i am not familiar at all with the P4's....can somebody tell me what the difference is between a socket 423 and socket 478 i know it's a stupid question....

socket 423 has 423 pins and is old (don't buy anything with this)
socket 478 has 478 pins and is new (buy this one)

Get him a 1.6A northwood for 133 bucks, and OC it to around 2.3ghz

2.6 if you're lucky we've had 2 now at work that would do a clean 1ghz overclock
