Default How to fit a powerful cooling systeem in a miditower?

Hello,

I'm thinking about putting a liquidcooling system in my miditower (Addtronics) while keeping the computer portable and the cooling as invisible as possible. I'm planning to put a 172Watt peltier unit on my CPU, so I suppose it system must be capable of getting rid of a lot of heat...

Anyone here with good ideas?

I have already done that, and I think it's a cool miditower - but, I don't really like how it looks... (The radiator in the front af the case).

Unfortunately the Mini would NOT be able to displace that kind of heat as is.

the 4x4" radiator is only so good. For the AMD setups I am going to be doing I am going to put in one of the big 5x5's that OCWC is starting to get in. Iam place'n it at the exaust end of the duct, and running it in series with the 4x4 radiator. Cause to dissapate almost 300watts of heat ( 172 + a Tbird) is VERY intense, and would overwhelm most cooling solutions around right now.

You mean the radiator they call Black Ice @ overclock-watercool ?

What do you think, is one (black ice) radiator good enough to handle +/- 200-250 Watt?

Yep thats it ( I havent used the name black ice as thats the same name of Kev's next project

Yeh I do believe the "black ice" can dissapate well over 200watts of heat

Looks like a good radiator for a (my )midi-tower.

Now were to put it... front, bottom top or the side of the case?

It also sounds like it's a lot harder to put in a midi tower...

Yeah, it was. I had to make a hole in the front metal of the case, and part of the radiator is inside the plastic faceplate of my case..

Damnit... I name my project Black Ice and AFTERWARDS I find out that i'm just a copycat... that's the name of a firewall program, a peltier heatsink at Peltec, and OCWC's new radiator... CRAP! This would have been some good info to know BEFORE I named it Black Ice .

Your project would be a double copy cause I have a link to another BlackIce Case project which includes a Freezer type unit in place of a side of a Cube Case. http://www.geocities.com/getimpact20...e/blackice.htm

But its all cool. I still love you
