That's it.

The ATx switch is a pulse swith, in newer cases a press button is used instead of a switch. It doesnt maintain the ON position like the old at psu's, due to the psu on/off being done through the atx board.

the I/O panel ( printer, keyb, usb...etc) is the next change to be done, just cut a small rectangle to fit the new mobo . No big deal, i've done it myself on an older case once.

I have heard that there is a pin you can pull out of the old AT switches, or a tab you can break off, that will make them work with ATX supplies, but you might as well buy a new switch.

If it works, fix it until it's broke!

All you need is some sort of momentary swich.

I've used door bells, the clapper, two wires attached to plastic that I would just touch. old reset switches. Once, as an experiment I ised a relay hooked up to an old car alarm. It worked pretty good with the remote. At least until I got remote start on my car, and discovered that it kept turning on the computer.
