How I cooled my SK-6
Well, just thought I'd share this with you guys.
I got teh SK-6 HSF for my 1.4ghz Tbrid. It ran great, but with that blacklable delta reminding me of mowing the law everytime I started my computer, I wasn't happy. So I decided to go with a nice quiet 120mm Panaflo Low output fan. I then made a custom duct outa aluminum sheet metal. I'm running my system at 1609.99Mhz with 11.5x/140.00mhz ddr. My temps right now are 41 idle, and I get a max load temp at 46. I'm sorry the picture isn't smaller, but I usually shrink it with HTML, but I don't know how to do that with this UBB stuff.... I used aluminum rivits to secure it all togther. Total cost of the mod was 30 bucks, including the fan. I basically just used some thick cardboard to make a template for it, and then I used that to cut out the aluminum. I messed up, as you can see with the little sheet patch, but it was an easy fix. Oh, and btw... I've cleaned up the cables, have rounded cables now, ect... My case looks alot nicer inside now. When I first clicked the link to your post, I thought I was gonna see some shady aircooling thing, but that is a great job man! Nice! H2O is the way to go though!

Thanks. I plan to go H2O when I have the cash. (isn't that always the case?)

pretty slick, even if it is Air cooling. Nice temps also, that SK6 is a nice HSF. Still don't hold a candle to watercooling

Hey WM, nice clean work. I was thinking about doing something
similar, but going from the front of the case, across the SK-6 and out the back of the case. I think I like your idea better. Awe screw it, I'm gonna water cool it as soon as I can afford it. I'll just live with my Athalon powered hovercraft till then...LOL

Thanks

6c better and silent, cool. I was a little suspect of a 120mm --> 60mm fan adapter, but I think why your results are so good is because of the length of the adapter, most are like 15mm high

With short adapters... you get alot of back flow... because the air doesn't have time to funnel down.
That and the fact that I couldn't get one of those to fit on my Sk6 is the reason why I resourted to making my own.
