Default thermal compound app?

I'm using AS3 for my cpu interface and when I first install the
waterblock the Athlon 1700+ will work 100% stable @ 208x11.5.
Then after a day or so, the system will crash and I have to lower
the cpu speed. I take off the waterblock and reapply the AS3 and
all is ok @ 208x11.5 again.

I am applying the AS3 very thin, but I am still having problems
with it.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

it could be the buildup in heat in your water. By the time you take it apart, the temp goes back down to a stable temp level. This really could be a scenario on any one of the components that is overheating. It could have nothing to do with the compound. I bet if you just turned your crashed computer off for 15 minutes, you would get the same results. Have you tried that?

Thanks for the suggestions.

I normally use Super Pi to test. I will try Prime95 and let the
system cool down completely the next time it starts resetting.
