Found a mini-chiller

I was wondering if this might work in a watercooling setup, maybe if you place it in a res. Link here . It says it only cools 6-8 degrees F below ambient air, but thats for 10 gallons of water. I would guess it may be more efficient because of the small amount of water used in a w/c setup. Also, maybe upgrading the fan on the unit may increase its efficiency.

Intersting, this seems to be a simple peltier based chiller. This finding could be a breakthrough in my opinion to simply chill the water. I think you are right that you would be able to get better results, because the volume of coolant in the watercooling sys is substantually less. Now you could just get a heatsink, slap a pelt of whatever size you want, then something else like a block of metal on the other end and put that in the water (im forgeting the fan).

your idea would work only if your sys is set up in the following manner.

water flow > rad > res, chiller > w block >

We've been over this one before: it's underpowered.

maybe you could swap the pelt. (assuming it uses one) for a more powerful one.

yea. I you wanted you could look up the designs for those bay resivoirs, and mod it so that you could use an air cooled pelt. that might not work either, but just throwing around some ideas. anything is possible .
