Which waterblock is better?
Which is better, the Innovatek Rev. 3, or the SwifTech 5000A?

xcuse me, but the WB Q has gone far enough. there is almost nomore difference between one make or another. mounting your block the best way u can will get u better temps than the best block in the world and a bad mount. to say that temps will differ about 1 - 2 °C.
so get what u can get, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. concentrate on a good rad, that will get u lot more satisfaction.

Duh, not. Depends on your definition of "best".
If "best" means "better cooling performance" then both are equal. If it means "lowest price" then i think the Swiftie wins. If it means craftmanship and finition, both are on a tie. If it means quality of mounting system, it's more or less a tie, the Innovatek is easy & fool-proof, the Swiftie is 'classical' but efficient. Then consider that both blocks mix alu & copper (though alu is anodized, but an additive is required). Oh and the Innovatek is in 3/8", the Swiftech can be fitted with 1/2". IMHO if you're in the U.S. the Swiftech offers more bang for the buck. |

Innovateks clamp is superior to swiftechs (u cant mount wrong with innovateks clamp), craftmanship is equal. Dunno about price. Performance is equal i guess.

Here's BillA's take on the Innovatek performance vs some of the old Swiftech MCW462 variants:
How much better the MCW5000A is vs BillA's modified improved Swiftech blocks as presented in that chart is unknown at this point in time. |

Well if there is any difference, in the order of difference between TC-4, Innovatek rev3 and SW 462-U, we're talking about less than 0.01°C/W, at almost any (decent) flow rate. Buying any of these blocks over the other, based on performance alone, is absurd.
I'll repeat, price, mounting system, availability, support, finition, are all more important factors than performance (as long as we're dealing with 'top-level' modern blocks). The MCW5000A looks pretty good, i would be surprised that Swiftech issued a deceptive new product. |

Or you could consider the white water for best performance
