Thickness of copper Plate

Hi,

I'm thinking of designing my own waterblock for a Pentium C1 Northwood.

I've got some designs in mind, but there's one thing I'm not very sure about:

How thick should the copper plate between the canals in the waterblock and the CPU be?

(I've access to a CNC, so I can work very exactly)

Thanks

Welcome to ProCooling!

Your design is going to dictate the thickness of the baseplate. If you go for something like a DangerDen Maze 3/4, then you'd be better off with 1/4". If your design is extremely efficient, you could go down as low as 1 mm, but make sure that it's structurally supported.

Thanks, and what would you think is ideal for designing something like a Swiftec ( http://thermal-management-testing.co...ech%205000.htm
)?
