Heatsink/ Heat Pipe / ThermoSiphon Cooling The cat will only make the mistake of putting its paw by your HSF once. :) Also the place to discuss the new high end heat pipe goodness. |

Need Advice on cooling CM ATC 210 case
http://www.motherboards.org/articles...ws/1019_2.html
I'm in the process the on building a new p4 system in a cooler master ATC 210 case and need some advice on the cooling part. So far, i have a GeForce4 Ti 4600 and and audigy sound card so i know the temperature will be really hot. the case only has two exhaust fans, one on the top panel and one on the back panel. I have a one hdd cooler fan system that is basically two fans blowing air onto the harddrive and a pci slot fan that sucks air out. My questions is, should i cut panels in both sides on the case to attach intake fans since so far there aren't any intake fans? I was thinking of putting them on the lower corner closest to the front of the case, both of them not parallel to each other. What do you guys think? Do you guys think the extra fans are necessary? |

I wouldn't really want to cut up a very expensive case like that unless I had to. I'd assemble the system and then see what the temps are like.
If the temps aren't too good, you could add in fans at the bottom of the case (una style in the rock) or just do it in the traditional on the side way

Alright! I haven't had a desktop computer in a long time, I used to just work off a laptop so most of this cooling stuff is pretty new to me.
From what I understand, room temperature or lower is optimal right? I'm just guessing that with my current setup, that would be hard especially near the memory and pci slots since there won't be any air flow except straight out(no cold air coming in). What did you mean by adding fan holes at the bottom of the case? |

look at una's article called the rock. he used 2x 92mm fans and a radiator at the bottom of his case.
room temp inside a case is the best you can possibly get
