The ULTIMATE H2O Cooling case revealed by HWLABS!
Gentlemen, Wille from HWLabs makes incredible radiators. This we all know... However, he is delving into a new sect of CPU cooling, PC Watercooling cases. We talked for hours about what would be a good, marketable design. www.hwlabs.com has a bit more info, but unfortunately, I can't disclose more than that due to an NDA... just know that this is big, very big. Here's a pic:
http://www.hwlabs.com/misc/XBox.jpg It is called the XIceBox. I know the name is chessy, but Willie felt it would be well accepted due to its sounding similar to XBOX while still indicating that it is a cooling machine by the "Ice" part of it. Like I said, details are sparse at this point. I can't reveal too much more... maybe a bit though. -Kevin

That's what I thought at first too! Lol.
Seriously, the secret lies within... It will be revealed when it is ready to hit the market. I may be able to answer some basic questions if you have any though.. -Kev

WTF is in this machine you ask?
Well I can tell you that an entire cooling system does fit in there. In addition, so does an entire computer. I can't really get into HOW it functions because of certain NDA agreements. The outer color will most likely change for the launch. It will probably be green and black, like an XBOX. However, there will be some white/blue on it to indicate that it is most definitely not an XBOX, because it is not. It is an XIceBox. It is very insulated as the temps will get VERY cold in there.

Heh, I gave him that idea like 3 months ago. I was like "keep the hot air outside the case, styrofoam would do that really well".. Man if I had a patent for every good idea I've given away...

Yeah, Una did help in the creation of this marvel. Using styrofoam for insulation was a pretty brilliant idea. Like i said though, the secret lies within...

Heh, the thing is, I never signed any NDA, so I can spill the beans at the drop of a hat. Put it this way, think liquid nitrogen, and heatpipe based heatsinks....

I'd like to know where the power goes in and where the heat goes out... We're not trying to violate conservation of energy here are we?

Yeah yeah, I've heard that before. I'm tempted to just lay it ALL out now. Let everyone know EXACTLY how this thing works. But hey, send me a BI-X and I might keep quiet.

Oh yeah? You wanna receive a self-destructing email written in a threatening and insulting manner indicating my fervent desire to have your ass dragged to court for the most frivolous of reasons?

Ok, you want to play hardball? Here's another NDA insider's tidbit.. That's not stryrofoam. It's just made in a styrofoam mold because that's they only way they know how to make that carbon foam right now.
This is the stuff it's made of Now, I guess sending me a radiator is a moot point. You can't touch me in court, I never signed a damn thing.

Look Una, I've told you before -I've sent your unit to you already!
I've lost tens of thousands of dollars through the postal system. NDA or no NDA, you sent me an email threatening my well-being if I do not concede to your blackmail. I have contacted the authorities and you will soon be under arrest. Fun time's over. Let's see you get your ass overclocked in jail. Last edited by TNT2bluz; 04-01-2002 at 04:36 AM. |

Man, you could make that foam in the garage, it's not all that hard to do, it mixes up just like an epoxy. combine the resin and the hardener, and pour it in (a little bit) and it expands like mad. He's also got the heatpipe running through the foam, and I don't know if he got it to work or not, but he was planning on even putting liquid nitrogen in the heatpipe instead of freon.
TNT2Boy: You'll have to figure out where I live before you can even hope of sticking me with a subpena. And the cops aren't going to just show up at my house to arrest me, I don't know what planet your on.

Brad you dimwit kiwi, go play rugby or something instead -this is between me and Unaswedeyboy here.
Look Una, I proposed the process for making it without the use of high-temp ovens as alternative manufacturing process for the foam. If you can't honor your word in keeping tabs on things like this, then do not expect any reward or recognition for your contributions. Don't tell me you're innocent once they knock on your door. |

You know what's going to be really funny, is when you finally get around to installing a motherboard in this thing, and IT DOESN'T WORK. Yeah, you heard me, I will laugh my ass off when your left standing there, just like Chip, with a pile of crap, that doesn't even work like you had hyped it up to work. Granted, the design is awesome, it's my brainchild, but your the one with all the money and customers on the line, you'd better hope it actually works. You won't even have enough money left to feed yourself, let alone sue me.
Mmm, reminds me of Rambust..
