4 Letter Code on AMD Processors

Last night I took my cooelr off my processor to allow for easier access so I could measure my MOSFETs to cut up sinks and i took a look at my 1700+, instead of the usualy 4 letter code my processor only has a 3 letter code.

DUT3C 0302MPM

Has anyone seen this before?

Heres a pic of where this code is located:

The stepping of my AXP 1700+ is:
AXDA1700 DUT3C 4157033251485
JIUHB 0302 MPM

Thanks,
Craig

well i was just doing some research for you and you are a VERY lucky person

i was just reading that on that model with that code people are usually able to reach a 700mhz overclock on the default vcore and air cooling

although i own a tbred-b 2600 i think i will have to get a 1700 with this code cause its gonna be fun

im jealous

Thanks for the reply, I found this out a little while after I posted here on another forum.

So, Im happy

I currently have crap air cooling, waiting on pump for w/c but on a cooler rated to 2200+ (1.8GHz) i was able to ghet this chip to 2145MHz. Wil lgo higher but just because of the cooling im using.

Will go much higher on water.

Thanks,
Craig

nice, after reading the articles and learning about the codes, i found out the the 2600 tbred-b 333mhz i was running was origionally made to be an xp1800+ and it was low model with a redish core

i had another xp2600+ 333mhz tbred b lying around for a system im building my friend and it was origionally a 2600 (better than being an 1800, although 2800 woulda been better )
but i also noticed it had a white core (supposed to be better for overclockin) and it was an earlier release (even better for oc) so i stuck this cpu in my system and im gonna let it burn in some and see how far it goes or how much more easily it will oc over the other 2600

i might have to get one of those 1700s like yours for the hell of it, expecially since im bout to put together a water system for myself

The article which talks about AMD CPUs being all rebadged from other speeds has been disproven. It was just a theory that someone had that was wrong. Here is a useful article:

http://www.overclockers.com/tips00173/

Although it is complicated by the fact that AMD later released 1.5V TBredBs.

What is important to note is that the AIUHB and the JIUHB are good steppings

well i tried to oc this one and expected more, kinda let it run seti and prime95 for a couple min to warm it up but they both seem to hit a brick wall at 2.23

for the tbredBs the 1700+ JIUHBs are legendary. For other chips I honestly don't know (because I always get 1700+ JIUHBs )
