text client. I bet that it did autoupdate with a botched version. I have now deleted the install from all the affected computers and started over. We'll see if I can actually get some points on the board now. I now have:
P4 1.8 P4 2.2 TBird 1.33 TBredB 2100MHz XP 1600+ all folding as of this post. I should be able to get another TBred into the mix shortly as well. |

yes it looks like I am now actually turning in some tolerable numbers. I am guessing in the neighborhood of 48k structures/day now that the PCs are actually DOING something.

I should probably post it as a main page news item that people need to check boxes and possibly reinstall, eh?

ok posted. I am gonna be close to 100k whenever all my boxes have been running for a full 24 hours. Not a bad run. I should be able to sustain this for the forseeable future, and in fact I can still throw a couple more boxes on whenever I get the parts to watercool them.

I am back to running all 3 comps for us. Looks like we are doing pretty good. If we can keep it over 500,000 a day we shouldn't get passed for while and should pass a team or two ahead of us.
Keep it up! |

Does your guys' client re-start at gen 0 every once in a while? I just looked at my DFGUI and it says I'm at Gen 0 with 8765 structures finished of 10,000.

over 1 million now! We still need a lot more active users if we are going to crack the top twenty though.

Ahh yes I finally broke 1 million total structures and looks like I am settling in at the top five. I think ftjandra will pass me pretty shortly though; he/she is kicking ass!

OK, obviously, the client works way faster on a AMD than on a INTEL!

There are two settings when running the client, you can either limit the usage to a max of 25megs, or a max of 150megs. It's supposed to run twice as fast with 150megs. So, my guess is that it wont run any faster with 1gig. By the way, my clients are set to use 150megs, but so far I have never seen them go higher than 90megs.

Ive had some stability issues I am working on resolving. would seem I maybe made my machine a tad too silent and the CPU's were running a lil hotter than they liked.

Is there a way you can see what's going on if you run the client as a 'service'? Or can you assume that everything is fine if the processes are taking up a CPU percentage in the task manager?
