Heatcore for TECs

im building a new rig, that for the moment has 2 TECs.

one 320w for CPU and one 226w for GPU.

im using a 2000lts/h and 3.5m water column pump.

the thing is, i would like to know how hot would water get, and how big the heatcore should be to handle such a heat load.

the heatcore will probably be custom made, so any suggestion for the design is welcomed.

The heatercore should have as much surface area as possible, and be several inches thick, and made from copper. Make it as big as your area can allow, with the highest fin density possible.

well so far i will be making a 46cm tall, 18cm wide and 5cm thick heatcore.

that will be running with this 3 fans

those are 140mm x 51mm sanyo denki fans. moving 150cfm each (wont be using them at 100%)

i got them from a local store.

you supose correct, thats ketchak's heatcore.

im from argentina, where the heatcore was made by aitor for ketchak. he will make mine too.

Those fans are extremely impressive. And at 51mm thick, performance should be extremely high against even a thick radiator.

running at 100% with a restriction such as a radiator, they get REALLY loud.

almost 50dba.

but i guess ill run them at 50% or less. im making a PWM regulator.

question, anyone used a 226w TEC for gpu before??

my objective is to reach 500mhz for the core of my 9800 non pro.

Yes, I used a 226W on my gpu, Ice formed on the back of it. I was testing an MCW462-UHT on my r9800, hit 550 core stable.

If you meant insulation; yes I used closed cell neoprene and dielectric grease, but the ice formed on top of it. I've since taken it off, and put it on my cpu. I doubt the card would last long with that condensation.

An easier idea, replace the MCW50-T pelt with one 172w 24v and use massive dielectric grease and thick neoprene, also press the neoprene against the card with a back plate.

PD: Dow Corning 1-2577 Conformal coating is one of the best compounds available for insulation.

i was planning on using the following insulation:

first a layer of acrilic insulator (more info here)
then a thick layer of RTV silicone
finally all this covered with neoprene.

over all this, would be the backplate that holds the block.

Why not use a blower? Seems like something like this torin blower

might be just what you want for forcing air through a "big-ass" radiator.
