Default Snap Server 1100 & 2200

I have 2x Snaps from work, both have Motherboard problems;

The 1100 fires up the HDD but no LED's
The 2200 does nothing....

Before I write them off I just wanted to check if I should do anything in particular to either of them first?
E.g. before I pull them apart, will;
* Removing and replacing the bios battery;
* Delicate cleaning;
* Voodoo or the Black Arts;
* Getting Shane Warne to touch it (the Motherboad that is);
Anything that you can think of (that I may not have) help?

Alternativly; has anyone out there come across an aftermarket boad that fits and is inexpensive as a worthwhile replacement?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Check the power supply in the 2200, you might get away with a working unit just by replacing that.

In most all cases it means the HD(s) have failed. On both of those models you need to hold in the power button for 5 sec to start them up. This is done to prevent accidential shutdown. The OS is stored on the HD. You can not read the SNAP OS in any pc, only in another snap OS, same model. Doing so will wipe out the MBR on the drives.

If your interested in selling them let me know. Or if you want someone else to see if they are repairable. Their is a company that sell parts, posted on other threads. Not sure if they carry the MB for current models.

Hey Matt,

I replaced my 1100 mobo with a 1000 mobo from northwesttechnical ($50). It fits in the 1100 case perfectly. It uses the same power adapter too. Works great.

Don't know about the 2200.

Not sure all of the 1000 boards support LBA48bit, if v2 BIOS should. I also think the cpu is not as fast. Will have to look at the MB I have here.
