2.4c or 2.6c
I heard the new 2.4c's are 3.2 EE failed L3 cache test.
So what is a better buy, the 2.4c or 2.6c? Price is $10 usd diff so no big deal. TY |

if the cache would be the only thing failing, then they would be sold as P4 3.2 NE (Normal Edition )

Some of these new P4 2.4s are clocking pretty high.
But the 13X multi of the 2.6 is a advantage unless you KNOW for sure that you have some very high clocking RAM sticks. |

Agreed. All things being equal, they have approximately the same ceiling. Call it 3.5 Ghz.
The higher multiplier on the 2.6 will make it much easier on the rest of your system. And you should be able to do it on lower volts, meaning a cooler system.

Yes, the new stepping M0 are quite good overclockers.
Imanige a 2.4 @ 3.5 STOCK voltage (OK with a slk 900). |

Hm, so mixed feelings about each right? This will be under a 226watt pelt. I like the higher multiplier on the 2.6c, but does the FSB on the 2.6c GENERALLY go lower than than a 2.4c could do? For the cash, I would like to get the better one of the two.

With this kind of overclock, if you can get an M0, i would recomend an 2.8! |

If cost is no matter, always get the faster unit (if the steppings are the same)

i've found that the 2.4's usually do 270+ fsb (in my experience) ... newer 2.6's should be about the same (a little lower) but put less stress on the rest of the system ... the trick is using good memory (Adata PC4000 or OCZ PC4200) to get those speeds. The M0 chips require really good memory and motherboards to get the most out of, 300mhz fsb isn't out of the question.
the 2.8's i've used max out around 240-250mhz fsb (non M0 stepping) and give nice results with PC3700 or pc4000 memory that can handle those speeds M0 chips are the good stuff I ordered a M0 2.8c from http://www.azzo.com/af4/details.asp?ProdID=826 and should have it by monday I'm hoping for 266-270mhz fsb out of it 3,780mhz wow (if I'm lucky) the rest of my system has seen 274+ fsb 1:1 so the memory/mobo and everything won't be holding me back I guess any 2.4c or 2.6c will do honestly unless you're looking for some benchmark records
