WAN access of snap server
Hi
I have an old snap server 1000 that was 15GB, but died, so have upgraded to 120GB. Working fine. I have a dlink g604t router/modem/wifi-ap with the snap server on the LAN behind it. I have the dlink basic firewall turned on, and have portforwarding set to point to the snapserver. I have stactic IP of X.X.X.X and when I enter this IP in browser I get redirected to snapserer and can login to view files. I can also use FTP in normal browser window (winxp explorer) So far so good. My question is, what is the best way to set-up remote access to a snap? by "best" I mean most secure yet useable from anywhere. Can I use SFTP? All help appreciated, Ben PS other info: Command: bios Version Failsafe Bios Exists Failsafe v2.1.363.FS Mon Jan 17 17:30:43 2000 Bios stamp v2.1.364 Fri Apr 07 14:39:36 2000 Plat Bytes 3.1.1 Model Byte 1 Failsafe: Last edited by bennyuk; 06-29-2005 at 11:16 AM. You can port forware on port 80 (ie web port) to your snap server.
As long as you have permissions and such set up it should be fine |
