Default 1700+ @ 2602MHz

Here you go:

Wild Thing

There are alot of other treads where they also are aiming high with these lovely Tbred B's.

OCworkbench > Epox forum.

Xtremesystems > AMD and Xtreme forum.

Ohh....it is not Prometeia's work, or LN2....it is watercooling.

But we know him allready, because it is morphling with the nice homepage

Default wrong title there :D

Hehe you better change the title, cos' this is the latest update.

And 3dmark score that sucks but never the less it made at 2733 MHz. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=5664469

Once more this is 1700+ that shouldn't be good

I'm reaching the limits of my memory in mobo here
Btw, I had cpuid screen shoot at 2825 MHz of course unstable but I lost it, I'll make new, tbred optimized waterblock tomorrow, that I hope will drop my temps ~ 5°C and then try again, 2900 cpuid shoot would very well be possible if I would have larger multiplier.

It really is unbelievable...that a 1700+ is running 2700 MHz. It's crazy.

Overclockers said that the "j" steppings Tbred B, wasnt good at OC...hmm....you showed them eh?

But I am abit confused about the steppings.

The "j" steppings are actually doing better than the "A" steppings, but it despends. It must be the "J" steppings from around week 51 and on...otherwise they are crap.

Also JIUCB are good, JIUGB are better and mainly because of you the JIUHB week 52 is the all time greatest now.

The funny thing is, that vr-zone and overclockers OC-databases are filled with AIUGB's and not any "J" steppings. But the "j" stepping has been around since week 42 aprox.

Why this sudden "boom" in "j" stepping OC ? It dosnt make sense. Not at all, when OC mentions that the "j"'s are the bad pick and the "A"'s the top pick...when it actually is reverse.

You really dont mean that a prommy or some evil Bowman cooling chould do the job better than watercooling?

Btw. nice block you got there.

One thing you know I have to ask about...

Your score in Sissoft Sandra...

Why is it that a 2700MHz Tbred only is about same performance as a P4 2.8 ? Would'nt it be a 3500+ at that OC'ed speed and should perform as that ?

You must buy the rev. 2 EPoX Nforce2 when it arrives. It is Overclockers dream nr 2, after you CPU

A little off topic:

Why are some of the EPoX OC'ers getting graphical errors in 3Dmark on their Nforce2 mobo ? This shoud'nt happen because of the AGP lock :\

Besides that...you CPU and that mobo, whould be the perfect match.

What I'd like to know is... what would the PR rating be, running at that 27xx MHz speed...

Default Waterblock????????

A outstanding O/C ! ! Congrats.

Is this useing your newest CPU WB? If yes, please share the data your water cooling system is running at. (windows open ect?) One thing I don't get is why would you need to make a new WB? Looks like the one you have on has to be doing a really good job to O/C like that. And how do you intend to try getting 5c lower temps?

Anybody want to figure the heat load of a chip cranked up that far?

ONce again a real great O/C.

My chip is much faster then 2.8 GHz P4 you must not forget the the scores P4 beat me are SSE2 enabled. Take a look at non SSE2 score with P4 (light green bar in cpu bench) it's much lower than AMD mighty fpu.

As for the mobo for now it serve me well, I'll wait to see what kt400a will bring (probably not enough to be better than nforce2) and then I'll upgrade to whatever better.

If sandra is correct, than this would be 3447+ model (take a look at cpu bench) but probably eben more considering I'm running at 217 FSB

When I ran that benchmarks my water was 0°C (I put my case on the window shelf so heatercore would intake cool outside air).
As for waterblock this one was great for larger core palomino, and it has base thickeness of only 1mm on center even less, so that doesn't work too well on smaller core tbred, because heat doesn't spread well , so I'll try 2mm base for tbred, I need to try that maybe I won't get better temps, maybe I'll even get higher temps, but in anyway I'll have great input of what would be the optimal thickeness for my block on tbred.

I read the thread at extreme, what a chip.

With your air temps at the frezing point what are your water & CPU temps at? And have you added any anit-freeze or alcohol to your system?

I hope your block changes give you the improvement you are looking for. Clearly your blocks design is serving you well now. Bet you didn't think you'd be repaid for your efforts this soon and with such a chip.

Any plans to upgrade your ram or vid card to improve your 3Dmarks score? Know that would be rather expensive but what a chip !

Water was 0°C as I said, I have G12 cooling additive from VW (also Porche Audi ...) stuff is great, not with those problem that I heard about redline water wetter. My cpu internal diode was ~25°C that's why I know I can improve further, because with palomino at 2000 MHz 2,2V my temp were 33°C @ 20°C water. The only other explanation is that diode in tbred is not working corectly, I must check with that diode calibration formula to see if my mbm need some temperature +- compensation for that sensor.
As for my vid card and 3dmark score, like I said that score was totaly unoptimized, my record is 14964 with 1600+ palomino at 2090 MHz and GF4 at 370/720 MHz and FSB at only 182MHz on older 8kha+ mobo, now with 8k3a, Corsair 3200 and much better cpu I'm sure I can score much higher, I just need to put water cooling back in GF4. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...5&pagenumber=2
Here is
3dmark score
So for now not realy the need for upgrade

I just checked something diode reading from tbred is totaly wrong on 8k3, I find it strange that my temps were imidiatly much higher even at default temp end frequency that, should not be with tbred B that runs much cooler then 0.18 palominos (my older cpu). So after I calculate compensation for cpu sensor in MBM using arctic silver instructions, I find out I need to substract 18°C from my readings, and then to test it I use halt command in wpcredit which basicaly shuts off cpu and my temps with compesation are where they should be few degrees above my water temps. Of course now I'm wondering if 2mm base won't be worse then 1mm. I need to check that as soon as I finish that block.

Bios 2b01, and I went after this formula http://www.arcticsilver.com/diode_calibration.htm
The problem is the the error probably isn't even linear, but this mobo definetly doesn't read Tbred diode correctly. I know there is supposte to exist a bios that enable that in socket thermistor even if the tbred is in. But I'm not changing bios because this one and especialy 2815 are the best.
I'll probably add Senfu temp probe so that it will touch the core, not as good as internal temperature, but at least error would be linear just offset few degrees from correct temp.
Btw. I also read on xtremesystems that one was got an answer from Epox techs (not the guy with that username) that the reading is way to high on tbreds and 8k3a

hi morphling, and others ofcourse

i think i've been going through all those threads with a pounding heart because of the anticipation of also getting one of those gems (might have a place to get em 3km from where i live)

but, could you give us the whole first and second line of the partnr? it is the voltage part i am most curious about.

Here you go, the second cpu (yeah I bought the second one as soon as I saw how good the first one was) is the same stepping just one week different, but friend got one to 2.3 GHz on Volcano7+ 1,85V

AXDA1700DUT3C 928..... and the second line :
JIUHB 02518PPW

This is the stepping to look for

Morph, to switch to the 13x and up range of multipliers you need to CUT the last L3 bridge on the cpu.

Or are you afraid of loosing your warranty?

For complete info on AMD bridge tweaking you can read here

Most definetly not afraid, but I heard when doing this it's locked at 13 then, is that true ?

Ohh yeah I got two of them, one for my second air cooled system, don't flame me , I'm on the mission to build better cooler then SLK 800

Bahh, forget about my last comment, last night I slept less than 3 hours, and now my mind/memory is playing me tricks.

So it comes on feb 7? Just like the Geforce FX from November 2002?
