casted wb evaporator mod
Hi friends, i am planning to try my first direct die refrigeration
remove a home made casted block. Suitable for DD ? cheers I am planning to make a chamber and a suction line, but how tall would be right ? I was talking to a friend and he suggest to make 3 layers(thanks Azzi) Where do you suggest to locate the inlet of the cap tube and the suction line? here is another pic with the dimension block compared with a floppy disc. after cleaning cheers

I gotta say, it looks neat. There hasn't been enough designs publicly tested here in the forums, so, good luck!
As for how many levels... there was one fellow who did a 3-level design for the on-CPU evaporator. It worked really well, from what I hear. |

First time I've seen a DIY cast waterblock Definitely want to know what you used to melt the copper, and how you molded it like that???

I seem to recall cast copper isn't as good as rolled copper bars for water blocks, though I forget why.

Is this a waterblock or a phasechange block If it's for phase change then won't the microscopic air bubbles pose problems, regarding refrigerant leakage, etc? |

sorry for the lack of response.
Bryan256, you are correct. it was casted by a friend, Bruno Facca, see links. lolito, it was made with the purpose of warecooling. It is a good block, so i was planning to make an evaporator with half of this size(tall).
