Well, I got the Gemini blocks in last week. And took my PICS

I have done no testring between the blocks preformance wise, Just Physical size.

These were taken on my pool table (YES I have a POOL table)

Wow, the one I am working on will be a cross between all three!!! 1/4" wide 3/8" deep channels, 2"x3"X1/2" block. I will post a pic of it when I get it done. Working out the code now.

the spiral just looks so big, the gemini looks like a little toy.

so fix, when can we see performance tests?

Damn, I just ran a pre-run of my Spiral and it is short one loop. I did that because i wanted to use a O ring in the future. I see that Gememi does not use a O ring? I am very curious what he used to seal it. I used clear epoxy on my last block with an acrylic top and it worked good but I am not sure about long term use if that epoxy will slowly wear away. I may just try and add the last loop and epoxy it aswell. Will run the actuall block out in the morning as the code is DONE!!! WoooHooo....

Epoxy is too brittle, one bump or simply overtightening the top, and it'll quickly let go. Plumbers goop is great because it remains flexible, to a point. Let's things flex. :)

Plumbers goop dosn't dry clear though(has a cloudy haze to it) which is a must for an acrylic top. Epoxy works fine if you add ascrews for sheer strength which it looks like Gemini did. If you add those screws while the epoxy is wet it makes the bond exellent. But I am still not sure I would go that route. I like the O ring myself. that makes the top removable aswell which is like.

both do look awesomely delicious

well for lack of that nice mill, on my part, I'm not using an O-ring either, although I have to say, that gives me the ability to optimize the insides of the cavity even better, PG. works better than solder, IMO... if it is applied correctly, getting it to spring a leak.... well ya... I've not yet managed that one.... :)

beside, if you have 2 virtually 100%flat surfaces clamped together, and you add a small amount of sealing flexible substance, the possibility of a leak, at the pressures we are talking about....

Should have added screws to my latest block. This happened at 8:30am this morning.

Yeah it was!!! Makes me wonder what Gemini is using as a sealant and if those screws will really work.

Well the CPU works just fine!!!! Got it running on the comp I am typing this on. When the Mobo dries out I will drop in mt Spare Duron 700 in it and see if it still works.

jaydee, what caused that do you think? vibration, or just a bad seal?

more like water preassure. I am willing to bet that the force of moving water, and air bubbles in the epoxy caused it. Also acrylic is extremly smooth. There was nothing for the epoxy to grab onto, and nothing keeping even preassure on the top. Notice it is leaking in the middle? Not where the mounting bolts are.

What fixitt said basically. The block was never moved once installed and it is sitting horizontal on my testbed so vibration was not an issue. The epoxy just didn't stick to the acrylic. No prob though as nothing was damaged!!! Mobo even works.

...and who said water and electricity dont mix well? LOL!!
have you tried emailing the guy that makes the gemini blocks? im sure he'ld tell you...

Just cause a mother board is green like plants, doesnt mean you should be watering them ;)

:D Well it was worth a shot, I thought it might grow into a Hammer capable board.:D

ehhh, I'd prefer it to grow a second socket :P
