From what I remember of my machine classes at college there's only 2 speeds you use with copper and especially brass, stop and flat out :D

erm..

well i'm milling to size not the design...

It was always my understanding that your material feed rate and depth of cut affected the issue as well. Usually you can get the info for feed rates and bit speed from manufacturer's web sites ;)

Dosn't matter, milling is milling. If you are running 94RPM you are beating a dead horse. Feed rates are important but the spindal speed needs to be around 2,500 to 3,000+RPM to do any real milling in AL or Copper. I wish mine would do 6,000RPM it would make life a little easier. If you try and go into the block at that speed you will only be able to take off 1/128" at a time at very slow feed rate. And you will just tear up endmills.

Why 94RPM? Dosn't it go faster? My drill press will do 3,000RPM!!!

http://www.grizzly.com/ There are better places but I can't remeber them. I buy my stuff locally.

i had it up to 153 RPM and it scaired the crap out of me

it was making so much noise

BTW its a horizontal mill

So is mine. Are you sure you have your RPM correct? It isn't 94 or 153 X 10???
