Rad question...a easy one

Does it hurt to paint the top and bottom of a chevette rad and the sides...but not the fins

nope. just be sure to make sure the surfaces are clean befor you paint (also make sure you PRIME befor painting, otherwise the paint wont stick well and could flake off).

ive painted my fins BTW (painted them down at an angle, not directly into them), it doesnt hurt anything.

Black Ice rads are painted too, fins and all. I would think you would be ok painting the whole thing as long as you dont get it on the fins too thick, which would inhibit cooling.

Thanx guys

as long as the paint coat itself is fairly thin it will be fine. The thinner the better.
