Where to purchase tap and die sets online?

Title says it all really :) Looking to put some 3/8" NPT threaded holes into some acrylic for a reservoir.

I know you can find what you're looking for at www.mcmaster-carr.com

i know Home Depot sells the 3/8"- 16NC Tap and Letter O Drill Bit Combo Set (search for "tap" and / or look under the specialty hand tools section), probably Lowes also. you could probably just drive out to one of those stores and pick one up...Ace Hardware would have them as well.

Lowe's and Home Depot do not sell pipe taps that big in the store. Online, perhaps. I would call around local hardware stores and plumbing supply places. McMaster Carr has them for sure. Got mine from there =]

methinks ur right, i just went there and it looks like the biggest tap they had was 3/8 inch (which may or may not have the right threads...they looked course enuff tho...).
perhaps a local plumbing store might have them? McMaster certainly has them...about 5 billion of them LOL!

Have to buy the damn set but at $39.00 that isn't bad as the last 1/4" NPT Tap I bought was $20.00 by itself. Of course it was a high quality one which isn't and wasn't needed but I was in a crunch.

nice find! Gonna pick that set up right now. Guess I need the right size drill bits too. I believe 3/8" NPT is 37/64 and 1/4" NPT is 7/16, correct?

You can also try
www.grainger.com

a quick search for tap and die gave 27 results, and there is more than likely a brick and mortar near you.

They sell good tools
