How do I relate the backpressure of a radiator to a flow curve for a fan?
BillA gives some nice data here about heatercores:
http://www.thermal-management-testin...esting%202.htm (Second chart down) However he simply lists the static pressure needed for a given air flow. Looking at fans OTOH, the pdfs typically list the flow at a given backpressure. Sadly I'm not smart enough to relate the two. Could someone help me out with some formulas? Also, heres a PDF for reference. I'd love to try out these 127*127*52mm fans. The static pressure these things generate is simply amazing. Not to mention they're almost the exact size of a heatercore. http://www.nidec.com/fanpdfs/c2002_3939.pdf Thanks. Edit: Bad link. |
Try using Excel. Plot a pressure vs. flow line for the rad and another pressure vs. flow line for the fan. The point they intersect will give you the pressure drop and flow rate you'll see.
